Be Prepared to Play for Anyone
ViolinSolos.com was created in order to serve an overlooked population of string players: those who want to play well-known tunes anywhere at any time without first needing to find a pianist.
All too often, we are asked to play for a small gathering, cocktail hour, classroom, or for relatives in town during the holidays, and all we can think of is that one Bach Partita from years ago, or a Paganini Caprice better suited for the concert stage. In the end, the audience gives tepid applause before asking with excitement “Do you know the Titanic song?” Before we know it, we are playing a simple melody line, wondering why we spent all those years practicing.
All of the unaccompanied arrangements here at ViolinSolos.com were written by professional string players who know what is possible, what is comfortable for the hand, and what sounds good. Not only will the audience be thrilled, humming along with the well-known tunes, but your pride will also be spared as you perform technically challenging passages to satisfy even the most demanding of virtuoso.
Be Ready During a Gig Emergency
At a gig and your duet partner is caught in traffic? Playing for a class full of 2nd graders who don’t care if you can play 4-note chords in 3 different octaves? Need a song this very moment for your church service? Every title available on this site has been arranged in 4 levels of difficulty, giving you the flexibility to decide what is best for each situation. Here at ViolinSolos.com, we know that just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. That’s why with every purchase, we will include all 4 levels at no additional charge. Just pull out the appropriate level and play away!
A Fun Way to Practice Double-stops.
All of our arrangements utilize double-stops and chords in order to provide harmony and tonality to the original melody. This technique is usually learned through boring etudes or is introduced suddenly as part of a larger concert piece. We all love Bach when we get older, but remember how you felt as a student. Our level 1 and 2 arrangements provide both student and teacher an excellent way to explore this technique and improve intonation while also having fun.
